Economic relevance
The United Kingdom (UK) is the 7th largest economy in the world and the second largest in Europe after Germany. Now almost gone from the European Union, the UK is a member of the Commonwealth, the G7 and the G20, as well as other international organizations.
The City of London is the world’s largest financial centre. Heir to the British Empire, the UK has strong economic links with all english speaking countries and especially with the USA. As a result, the pound sterling (GBP) is the 4th most traded currency and the 3rd most held reserve currency in the world (after the US dollar and the euro).
foxer currency calculator includes the Bank of England (BOE) plugin by default, making it possible to bring you all the daily and historical official pound exchange rates.
